Massage Therapy

My name is Jeff Johnson. I’ve been a Licensed Massage Therapist practicing in Austin, TX since 2003. I offer skilled, personalized bodywork in a comfortable, spiritually inspired studio. I value genuine connection, effective technique and meaningful relief and I’m devoted to providing these for every person I work with. You can read more about the philosophy that informs my approach in the View section.

My studio is located in central Austin, just a minutes from downtown and easily accessible from Interstate 35. I serve clients from all over the city and surrounding areas, even Bastrop, Round Rock, South Austin and Bee Caves.

Who is my work for?

My work is especially suited for people who:

  • Feel stressed, depleted or disconnected from their bodies

  • Feel lonely or isolated and long for safe, mature, intimate connection

  • Live with chronic tension, pain or restricted movement

  • Are working thru a difficult life transition, recovering from surgery or coping with emotional loss

  • Want attentive, personalized care in a bodywork relationship rather than generic, impersonal massage from a corporate spa

If your looking for something slower, deeper, more attuned and responsive then I’m your guy. You can learn more about the techniques I use and get a feel for the type of relationship I have with clients in the Method section of this site.

What can I expect?

My sessions start with quality face to face time, allowing us to connect and attune the session to where you are and what you need at the time. I schedule plenty of time between clients so we are never rushed or interrupted and the space of our work remains supportive, private and secure.

Sessions may include Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Structural Integration techniques or deep, meditative inquiry depending on the needs and desires you’ve expressed to me. I have 23 years of hands-on experience. I’ve worked with a wide range of body types and personality styles, life conditions and difficult circumstances and I’ve learned to effectively hold space for all of them.

My practice is private, grounded and intentionally small. This allows me to be reliable and available to my clients without them having to wait very long to find a space in my schedule. I love what I do and appreciate the life it has given to me every day.

When you are ready to book an appointment, the Availability section will provide more information about my schedule, fees, location and the best method for requesting a session. I look forward to working with you.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from a spa massage?

My sessions are more personal, slower, more focused and guided by your specific needs rather than a preset routine.

Do you work with pain or injury?

Yes. Many clients come in with specific areas of pain, tension or injuries. My sessions are designed to provide relief in these areas and to integrate them with the rest of the body

Is this appropriate if I’ve never had bodywork before?

Absolutely. I do my best to meet each client where they are. This includes their level of experience and their view of bodywork as a whole. I want you to have a massage that feels great and helps ease your pain and the suffering it causes. There is no experience necessary for you to receive this.

How long are sessions?

Session lengths vary based on client needs. Details are listed on the Availability page

Your website has a lot of spiritual images and references in it. Is your work religious?

No. My website is an expression of who I am and the aspirations guiding my practice. These have developed from my own inner work over the course of my life. I am devoted to qualities of my Being, like Compassion, that many religions also value. I am inspired by spiritual imagery that symbolize these qualities and I strive to express them thru the work that I do. But there is no need for my clients to have any particular religious beliefs to receive a great massage from me. I am always open to sharing my spiritual experience if someone is interested but this is not explicitly part of my bodywork sessions unless my client want them to be.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions that aren’t answered by information on my site. You can find my email and phone number at the bottom of every page. I hope I get the opportunity to work with you.

Peace, Jeff
